Day 7 - here come the girls!

I have been avoiding creating figures for my work for some time. I wasn't sure where to start but here are my first three!  I need to keep practicing - I never quite know what to do with the arms!

    Love your work! Kate, where do you get your inspiration on a daily basis? what would be your starting point and the design process if I can ask!

      Hi Ann John, I get my inspiration from various places. I love vintage patterns, I find pinterest a really useful source too. I also love second hand books. My starting points vary. I can be inspired by a patterned piece of paper that can become another shape or an item in a picture. I usually sketch out my ideas first then create a collage or mixed media piece. I'll sometimes change colours digitally if I think the piece requires it. Recent pieces have started with a word from a newspaper and the design has taken shape around this. I'm really lucky also to be surrounded by creative people who help me push my ideas further. I basically have lots of fun with my work :)
